About

Olu Omoluyiri was the 9th Olu of the medieval Warri Kingdom in present-day Delta State, Nigeria, ruling over the Itsekiri and non-Itsekiri peoples. He was a son of Olu Atuwatse I (Olu Dom Domingos) and succeeded his brother Olu Oyenakpagha (Obanighenren), reigning approximately from 1654 to 1674. He bore the Portuguese name Mathias Ludivico and married a Portuguese noblewoman, reflecting the Warri royal house's longstanding ties with Portugal. He was succeeded by his son, Olu Abejoye.
