Olu of Warri
Warri Kingdom
About
Olu Akengboye was the 13th Olu of Warri who ruled over the Kingdom of Warri among the Itsekiri people of present-day Delta State, Nigeria. He succeeded his father, Olu Omagboye (Miguel), and took the title Ogiame Akengboye; his Portuguese baptismal name was Agostinho Sabastiao Octobia. He reigned roughly from 1730 until around 1734–1735, after which his son Olu Atogbuwa succeeded him. (Note: available sources identify Akengboye as the 13th Olu, not the 6th — the 6th Olu c. 1597–1623 was Olu Atorongboye/Sebastian.)
