Onicha (Onicha-Olona) is an Enuani Igbo town tracing its origins to the Benin Empire. According to oral tradition, its founders migrated from Benin and settled in the Aniocha area as part of the wider 'Onicha' clan, which shares kinship with the Onitsha people across the Niger.
