About
Olu Irame was a Nigerian traditional ruler who served as the 3rd Olu of Warri Kingdom in present-day Delta State, Nigeria. He was the second son of Olu Ginuwa I (founder of the Warri Kingdom) and succeeded his elder brother Olu Ogbowuru (Ijijen) to the throne, reigning circa 1538 to 1570. He was a member of the House of Ginuwa, practiced Itsekiri traditional religion, and was succeeded by his son Olu Ojoluwa. He is best remembered for banishing three deities — Ibirikimo, Otueke, and Ike — along with their worshipers from Ode-Itsekiri to the community of Orugbo.
