About

Ogieva I held the title of Dein of Agbor, the paramount traditional ruler of the Agbor Kingdom in present-day Delta State, Nigeria. The Agbor kingdom is part of the Ika (Anioma) people, whose monarchy traces its origins to the Benin Empire. The Dein serves as both spiritual and political head of the community. Ogieva I’s reign is placed in the mid‑19th century, a period when the kingdom was consolidating its identity and navigating regional trade and political changes. Few detailed oral or written records about his personal rule have survived, so the specifics of his leadership remain largely unrecorded beyond his approximate dates.
