About

Ika IV ascended the throne as the 19th Dein of Agbor in 1966, following the demise of his predecessor, Dein Ikenchukwu I. His reign, however, proved tragically brief, lasting only about a year. In 1967, Ika IV died under circumstances that remain unclear and have been the subject of local speculation, with some accounts suggesting foul play. His sudden death plunged the Agbor Kingdom into a prolonged succession crisis. The stool of the Dein remained vacant for over a decade as competing claims and political tensions delayed the installation of a successor, significantly affecting the political and cultural life of the Ika people during that period.
