About

Akina II served as the 10th Dein of Agbor, the paramount traditional ruler of the Agbor Kingdom in present-day Delta State, Nigeria. The Dein title is the highest monarchical authority among the Ika (Anioma) people, a subgroup with historical ties to the Benin Empire. His reign, estimated around 1740 to 1770, fell within a period when the kingdom maintained its distinct political and cultural identity while navigating regional dynamics. Very little specific documentation survives about Akina II's personal life or the events of his rule, and most knowledge of early Deins comes from oral tradition and king lists.
