About

Ozoro is the traditional title of the paramount ruler of the Ozoro Kingdom, an Isoko state in present-day Delta State, Nigeria. The first holder of the title, also named Ozoro, is regarded in oral tradition as the founder of the kingdom and its inaugural Ovie. He is believed to have led a group of Isoko settlers to the area during the pre-colonial period, establishing the ruling lineage that continues to the present day. No contemporaneous written records exist, and details of his life, reign, and achievements remain known only through community narratives and cultural memory.
