About

Ogbeide II was the second Dein of Agbor, the traditional ruler of the Agbor Kingdom among the Ika (Anioma) people in present-day Delta State, Nigeria. He succeeded his father, Ogbeide I, who is regarded as the founder of the ruling dynasty. His reign is tentatively placed in the early sixteenth century, a period of early consolidation for the kingdom. Very little specific information about Ogbeide II survives in accessible oral or written records, and his life remains mostly known only through his place in the royal succession. The Dein's role in this era was central to maintaining the continuity of the sacred kingship and the embryonic institutions of Agbor, which would become more defined in later centuries.
